    San Diego Zoo

    Thursday, September 30th, 2010

The San Diego Zoo, located in San Diego California is
one of the best zoo’s in the United States. Serving
as one of the main reasons to visit San Diego, the
zoo houses nearly 4,000 animals. Also in the zoo, are
the infamous pandas, one of the main reasons as to why
    the zoo is so popular.

Among the many animals you’ll find here are the pandas,
giraffes, tigers, and basically any other animal that
you can think of. The animals themselves have plenty
of room to run and play, giving you all the space you
need to view them in their active environment and
best of all – while they are at their best.

    How to Learn about Paris

    Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Paris is located on an island in Seine called Ile de la Cite. Lie de la Cite served as the headquarters for the Paris tribe during the 200 B.C., known as Lutetia.

The Roman Empire was attached with 2 wooden bridges crossing the river between the island to the river left and right. The bridges caught Julius Caesar attention, which he in turn brought it to the Romans attention. Julius Caesar explained how the Gallic War burned the bridges in the 52 B.C. and along with all the attractions in this town on the island in Seine called at this time Lutetia.

It took nearly a century to build Lutetia in a town. Only one thing, the island continued flooding so badly the water forced many of the people to move to the Left Bank of the river. More people were forced to move to safety, going to the surrounding hills when the Barbarians attacked in A.D. 200.

Over the next 50 years, the Christian communities moved in. During this time the city was blessed with it’s first bishop known as St. Denis around 250.

During the same time, that the Christian communities were moving in the Roman Empire’s political power started growing. The Roman Empire political powers started building up the cultural and religion became stronger. With the cultural and the religion growing it connected to the bishops making Rome stronger yet.

The Roman armies dropped in count during the 400’s when the Germanic tribes took over the island. At this time a Frankish-Latin to form, a union and they started making the town grow. The first Frankish King grabbed up the Christianity as his tribe’s religion. The King then encouraged the Parisian to place names like Paris.

The Carolingians stepped in during the 800’s and replaced the Merovingians. The Carolingians were than crowned having the supreme power and rank over Western Germany and Eastern France. Paris was never it’s capital. The City was known as the commercial and religious center in memory of St. Genevieve. St. Genevieve protected Paris when attacked by the Huns in the final days of the Roman Empire.

    Overlooking Newport Beach

    Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Throughout the vast state of California, Newport Beach
remains one of the most overlooked cities. The city
of Newport Beach is actually a very charming island,
with great beaches and a peninsula. With all of it’s
charms, it remains overlooked by tourists and those
looking for an ideal vacation spot.

Lying cradled within the Balboa Peninsula, the seven
islands that make up Newport Beach happen to have some
of the most expensive real estate in California. Many
of the homes here are 1.5 million and up! When you
consider that many are surrounded by small yacht harbors
and a peaceful yet tranquil environment, you know the
price of the homes are more than well worth it.

    New York Wildlife

    Sunday, September 26th, 2010

New York City might be a jungle according to many but the animals can be found in its many zoos. If you’d like to check out one or more of the many zoos in New York City I highly recommend purchasing a city pass that will allow you free admission to many of the area zoos. Keep in mind that some of the attractions inside the zoo will cost extra so you should expect to pay something for your day at the zoo(s) but every little bit you can save along the way helps and you will be surprised at how quickly you can recover the cost of your pass.

    Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is the largest urban zoo in the U. S. and is open 365 days a year. Those that have city passes can enjoy free admission to this zoo. Once you’ve had your fill of the award winning exhibits the Bronx Zoo has to offer you should check out the New York Botanical Garden, which is located nearby and offers great fun and many activities for children to avoid (this experience is another that can be enjoyed for no additional charge with the New York pass). Also nearby are Wave Hill, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and Van Cortlandt House Museum. All of these activities are free with the New York pass and are all very much suited for family members of all ages.

    Central Park Zoo

The Central Park Zoo offers a view of animals in their natural habitat rather than in cages. While this is becoming more and more of the norm as far as American zoos are concerned the Central Park Zoo was a relative pioneer in this particular process. Today the Central Park Zoo boasts an indoor rain forest; a chilled penguin house along with a pool for the polar bears while also being home to breeding programs for certain endangered species. While you’re there be sure to have lunch in the Leaping Frog Café, which offers kid friendly fare that is surprisingly health oriented (such as trans-fat-free French fries). If your walk through this 6.5-acre zoo wasn’t enough exercise for your day be sure to stop by the bike rental area of Central Park, which is located nearby.

Packing Your Bags for the Airport: What You Should Leave at Home

    Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Each day, millions of travelers hop on an airplane to get their next destination. Whether you are planning a visit to friends or family, attending a business meeting, or just taking a family vacation, it is likely that you will not be traveling alone. Almost all air travelers bring some sort of luggage with them. Unfortunately, when it comes to packing their bags, many travelers have no idea what they should or shouldn’t bring along.

If you are gearing up for your next trip, you are advised to carefully choose the items that you are planning on brining along with you. This includes items that will be packed in your checked baggage, in addition to your carryon luggage. Not only should be thinking about convenience, but you should also be thinking about air travel rules, namely the rules that specify which items or materials are allowed aboard an airplane and which ones are not.

When examining items prohibited during air travel, it is important to remember that some items may only have a partial ban. An example of a partial ban is a ban that may prevent certain items from being stored in your carryon luggage, but not in your checked baggage. Most of these bans, such as liquids, large tools, sporting goods, and sharp objects, are imposed only for safety reasons.

Although a large number of items are allowed to be in your checked baggage, despite being banned from your carryon luggage, there are some items that you cannot, under any circumstances, bring aboard an airplane. These items most commonly fall under the category of explosive or flammable materials. You will find that you are prohibited from brining bombs, dynamite, gun powder, lighters, flares, or strike anywhere matches on an airplane. In fact, trying to board an airplane with these items in your possession, whether they be in you carryon luggage or not, could land you in serious trouble.

    Vegas for the Eternal Planner

    Friday, September 24th, 2010

Are you a gambler? Seriously, do you take your chances on everything or are you a careful planner? Do you through caution to the wind with solid faith that everything will work out in the wind or do you try to control every aspect of the environment around you. I’ve noticed that in this world there are those that seem born to gamble, to take chances and take risks and those that agonize over he slightest and smallest of decisions often second guessing themselves into oblivion and back again before ultimately deciding to do that which they truly wish to do.

There are people who are far too capricious with lady luck and those who harbor no illusions about her fickle nature. Whichever type of person you are, there is a game for you to play in Vegas. Yes, even those who don’t gamble and aren’t willing to risk a single penny can find something fun and fabulous to do and enjoy during their stay in this great city.

Vegas is beginning to transform itself from “Sin City” to a more respectable place to have and bring children. There will always be the shows that this city is so famous for but they are often tempered with afternoon magic shows, clowns, and music reviews that honor performers from innocent (and not so innocent) days gone by. Where else on earth could you see Elvis Presley walking next to Marilyn Monroe and Diana Ross? Where else on earth can you see a clown walking around almost (if not) 24 hours out of each and every day? There are so many strange and wonderful things to see and do in this city that even if you’ve never set foot inside a casino and still have no intentions of doing so, there are still many, many things you can find to keep you entertained and happy.
