    Personal Comfort at Disneyland

    Saturday, July 31st, 2010

There is no better way to ruin your Disneyland
vacation than trying to walk around with blisters on
your feet! It is vitally important that you wear
comfortable shoes that are already broken in. You
will be doing more walking than you normally would
    when you visit Disneyland.

It is also important that you bring a change of
clothing. You can rent a locker at Disneyland to
store your extra clothes. You can rub your thighs
raw if you ride water rides in denim shorts, then try
to walk around while you dry out! Enjoy the water
rides – but then go change into dry clothing! Bring
extra shoes as well. Walking around in wet shoes
is not only uncomfortable; it can also contribute to
    blisters.

Popular Cruise Ship Destinations and Ports of Call

    Friday, July 30th, 2010

When considering vacationing aboard a cruise ship, there are many individuals who are unaware of what to expect. Individuals that have never been on a cruise ship before are likely to be a little bit confused when it comes to cruise ship destinations and ports of calls. If you are interested in taking a cruise, it is advised that you familiarize yourself with cruise ship destinations and ports of calls.

A port of call is a termed that is used by many cruise lines. It is used to describe stops that a cruise ship will make along the way. If you are interested in booking a vacation aboard a ship that makes multiple port stops, you will want to consider the ports available. Vacationing on a cruise ship is enough to make any vacation perfect, but selecting the right ports of calls will make your vacation even more enjoyable.

When examining the cruise ships offered by multiple cruise lines, you should automatically be provided with cruise ship stops. This information will likely tell you where and when the cruise ship will stop. Information may be available as to how long the cruise ship plans on staying at a particular port. If the stop is long enough, you may be able to view local attractions.

All around the world, there are a number of ports that cruise ships regularly stop at. Many of the most popular ports are found in the Caribbean. If you are searching for a tropical cruise, you may want to consider the climate of each port before making your reservation. Popular ports include, but are not limited to, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas.

Caribbean cruises are often viewed as the most popular types of cruises, but they are not the only ones that are available. Vacation cruises are popular all around the world, including in Europe, Canada, and the Northern United States. The ports of call on these cruises may be not be considered tropical, but they still offer many fun and exciting attractions for cruise ship travelers.

    Important Air Travel Tips

    Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Are you preparing for a trip that requires air travel? If you are, you may want to take the time to familiarize yourself with a few helpful tips. Some of these tips are outlined below for you and, when properly implemented, they may be able to save you both time and money.

Before leaving for the airport, as well as before packing your bags, be sure to familiarize yourself with airport security rules and restrictions. If you keep a close eye on the news, you may already know most of the rules, but you may still want to visit the online website for the TSA before leaving. This will result in you making it through airport security a lot quicker. Also, when you pack your bags based on existing rules, you are less likely to have to throw away any prohibited items, which can cost you money.

When packing your bags, be sure to pack with care. This is extremely important with your checked baggage. If you will have liquids in your checked bags, like shampoo or lotion, be sure to wrap them in a plastic grocery bag. This will be a lifesaver if anything spills or breaks open. If packing items these items in a carry-on bag, make sure that you are following all rules. For example, only small travel sizes are allowed and you are required to keep them separated in a plastic ziplock bag.

In keeping with packing your bags, be sure to keep anything of great value or importance in your carry-on bag. Laptops, digital cameras, and camcorders should not go into checked luggage, as the chances of damage are quite high. You never want to be separated from something that is valuable. Be sure to keep your carry-on bag with you at all times, never leave your bag unattended at the airport.

Science Museums Teach Children to Seek Truth

    Monday, July 26th, 2010

If science is the language that moves you, and for many of us, it is just that, then you really might want to visit some of the San Francisco museums that focus on science more than art. I find both to be of equal importance but there are those, many in fact, that would disagree with me. Whatever your feelings about it, if you have a child that you want to encourage to pay more attention to science courses in school, it is an excellent idea to take them to a museum such as this in order to fan that flame of curiosity.

Science answers many questions about the past and offers many hints at the future of our world and universe. Without science there is much we wouldn’t know and even more that we would not understand. I think any of use would be hard pressed to identify the single most important scientific discovery throughout history. There are so many things that are all very significant to the very lives we enjoy today and yet each and every scientific discovery happened because someone, somewhere, asked a question.

I find that truly amazing. When you think about it; physics, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, none of these things would be studied today if someone hadn’t found them curious at some point in history. That is precisely why I believe that museums such as the Exploratorium are so important in developing future scientist. If we spark the curiosity in our children at young ages there is nothing to prevent them from great discoveries later on. The Exploratorium encourages children to explore the world around them, even how science affects other things they enjoy (such as skateboarding). If you can use a skateboard to teach physics, imagine what you can do with a car.

The Morrison Planetarium is a great place to take the family if you are truly interested in seeing the stars. I’m not talking Hollywood starlets but real stars. If you or one of your children has the slightest interest in studying the stars, this will be a treat for you all. I sincerely hope you will at least check it out.

The Natural History Museum offers many exhibits that deal with various aspects of life. Perhaps the neatest thing about the Natural History Museum is the fact that you are allowed a very hands on approach to learning here. From actually handling fossils and skulls to really cool artifacts, very little is off limits. This means that even the most difficult child to amuse might find something of interest here; at least, that is the hope.

    San Diego For Kids

    Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Although San Diego has many things for grown ups to
enjoy, it hasa lot of activities for kids to enjoy
as well. Custom made for families, San Diego has
plenty of public parks, nice weather year round,
several museums, and many things for children of all
    ages to amuse themselves with.

For kids who love animals, there’s the well known
San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Animal Park. The zoo
is located in Balboa Park, while the park is located
a bit north of the city. If you have the time, you
should take a full day for your kids to enjoy the park
and the zoo. If the traditional zoo makes your kids
uncomfortable, the park is a great alternative.

Kids of all ages also enjoy the world famous Sea
World, which is home to Shamu the killer whale and
several other marine animals and exhibits. Sea World
has been a great attraction for kids for many years,
showing them the marine life like never before.

When it comes to the winter months, whale watching is
a very popular activity. You can watch them from
the coastline or take a cruise. Watching the gray
whale is very amusing to kids, openening their minds
    to new possibilities.

Balboa Park is a great place to visit as well, as it
has a lot more than the San Diego Zoo. There are
places for kids to explore, with the children’s museum,
the Fleet Science Center, and the Natural History
    Museum.

Another popular park for kids is Legoland California,
which is located north of San Diego. There are a lot
of things to see in this park, with a majority of
the park being built from the popular Lego blocks.
Overall, this is one of the best and most quiet options
    for younger children.

Hitting the beach is great as well, as San Diego has
many different beaches for kids of all ages. On the
beaches, kids can build sandcastles, rent boogie
boards, or just enjoy the swimming that San Diego so
    proudly displays.
